The HSE have recently re-launched an initiative to prevent falls from vehicles in the workplace. The governing body feels strongly that such accidents, often needless and tragic in nature, result in unwarranted physical pain and injury as well as monetary loss to UK business of around £35 million each year.

£20,000 in damages has been awarded by a Milton Keynes Magistrates Court, against the well known high street retailers, Marks & Spencer. The compensation was awarded after an employee lost part of a toe in a warehouse accident.
In a century trading, Marks & Spencer have never been prosecuted for breaches in Health and Safety.
